Simplicity signalers will alert you to a variety of events around your home that may be difficult or impossible to hear, like a ringing telephone or doorbell. Simplicity offers each product in two models: desktop and wall mount. Desktop models are intended to sit on a table and permit connection of a lamp for a visual alert. Wall mount models are intended to be mounted on a wall, and permit connection of a lamp or of an optional strobe light. Units can be used interchangeably throughout your home as space permits. Simplicity only offers a visual alert option.
With one exception, Simplicity's signalers are self-contained. This means that they will both detect an event (a ringing phone) and alert you (by flashing a light), all in one unit.
If you want notification in multiple rooms, or if you are using the Sound Signaler, you can purchase a Remote Receiver. These receivers are triggered by the signaling unit, and will flash a connected lamp or strobe to alert you. An LED panel will help you determine the source of the alert.
Different signalers will all trigger one receiver. The receiver will flash to let you know that a signaler has been triggered. For example, you may have a Phone Ring Signaler, a Doorbell Signaler and a Sound Signaler in your home. You have additional receivers in your living room, kitchen and bedroom. When your telephone rings, it triggers the Phone Ring Signaler, which flashes the connected lamp, and sends a signal to all of the other receivers, which all signal you, as well. You see the flash of the lamp, and pick up the phone. Unless indicated, the attached lamp can be used for lighting as well as signaling.

If you need notification in more than one room, you'll need a receiver. These plug into an electric outlet and will signal any of the above Simplicity signalers.

Trouble-shooting Simplicity
Simplicity transmits signals through the electrical wiring in your home. This means that there may occasionally be interference with receivers or transmitters. Very strong power surge protectors, for example, will interfere with Simplicity. You should connect all Simplicity products away from surge protectors, and be sure that you plug Simplicity products directly into an electrical socket, not a surge protector.
In addition, very large appliances like refrigerators will sometimes interfere with Simplicity. Plug all Simplicity products into outlets with small appliances, and if you experience interference, try plugging your Simplicity product into a different outlet.
