SoundBytes Opens New Store After Delay Caused By Hurricane Wilma
SoundBytes opens store in Ft. Lauderdale office of the League for The Hard of Hearing.
Jericho, NY (PRWEB) February 8, 2006 --SoundBytes, a catalog, web and retail-based company that specializes in providing assistive equipment for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals and the agencies that serve them, has opened its new location at the League for the Hard of Hearing in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The store, which was originally set to open on November 1st, 2005, is located at 2800 Oakland Park Blvd., Suite 306 in Oakland Park. The League is one of the oldest and foremost not-for-profit services in the world for people with hearing loss.
"We are very anxious to open the store after the long delay caused by the devastation of Hurricane Wilma," said Michael Abramowitz, Managing Director of SoundBytes. "Expanding to South Florida and providing local residents with high quality products that help independent communication, is an exciting venture for us."
The Florida store becomes the second location in which SoundBytes has opened at a League office. The New York City location has been a major resource for individuals with hearing loss for the past two years. These stores provide consumers an opportunity to shop for assistive devices in a "brick and mortar" setting, which complements the SoundBytes mail-order catalog and Internet presence at www.SoundBytes.com. Individuals who visit the League store will have opportunities to view demonstrations, test and purchase products for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from manufacturers including Clarity, Ameriphone, Sonic Alert, Krown, ClearSounds, Sennheiser, Silent Call, Williams Sound, Ultratec and Conversor.
As in the New York location, a portion of each sale will be donated to the League for the Hard of Hearing.
The store's hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
These days coincide with the days that the League serves as a distribution center for the Florida
Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI). Appointments may be scheduled for other times by contacting the
store directly at 954-717-4034. The New York City store operates Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9
